During this women’s retreat you will travel with Marcela Lobos and the medicine women of Chile to a land of volcanoes, ancient forests, and lakes. Embark on an adventure of the soul; luxuriate in native hot springs; and open your heart beyond your frontiers of awareness.
Meet at 10:00 am at the international airport of Santiago and drive to a gorgeous retreat on the coast of Chile, www.canalom.com. Arrive for a colorful lunch and then have free time to get a massage, soak in one of the warm water ocean pools, meditate with the soothing sound of the Pacific waves, or just rest. In the evening, we have an opening ceremony with Marcela and the machi –medicine women of the mapuche people.
Wake up to a feminine movement Qoya class with guest teacher Rochelle Schieck and stimulate our appetite for a nutritious breakfast. After breakfast we learn how to open sacred space and pray with the machi. There will be time to spend at the beach getting to know one another while soaking in cold or hot Pacific Ocean water for therapeutic purposes. This type of soak is known as Thalassotherapy (from the Greek word thalassa, meaning “sea”).
After lunch, we learn about the 13 main feminine archetypes. Dinner will be served at the outside café during sunset. We finish up the day with a fire ceremony.
Our morning feminine movement Qoya class helps us open our bodies and our hearts to a new day. After a delicious breakfast and sharing with one another, we pray and have a group divination session with the machi. We enjoy a healthy lunch and then go for more thalassotherapy, journal, and rest. We have dinner to the sun setting into the Pacific. In the evening we experience ceremonial Death Rites to unfasten the old self and to be open to the inner and outer journey to come.
We move this morning to our own individual pulse and rhythm in our unique feminine movement Qoya class. A nutritious breakfast is followed by prayer with the machi and a Rebirthing Ceremony in the“womb of the mother” -the revitalizing Pacific Ocean. Meditate on this “open door” to a new self through a silent lunch and afternoon rest. Surrender to the beauty of our evening dinner by the beach with sunset, followed by a sharing circle under the stars.
We begin the day with a self-indulgent movement Qoya class followed by a healthy breakfast. We give our farewell to Canalom and ride a bus for two hours to Alberto and Marcela’s land in the mountains. On the land we have an organic lunch made with fresh picks from their own gardens and then we organize ourselves in our comfortable campgrounds surrounded by wildflowers. In the evening we pray to commune with the spirits of the land and participate in a sharing circle around the fire with drumming and singing.
Awaken to a heart opening movement Qoya class that stirs our appetites for a delicious breakfast. Salute the sun and the mountains in preparation for a traditional “rewe” –a totem pole- planting ceremony. Learn how to pray with the rewe, followed by an organic lunch. After lunch we sing and dance to elevate our spirits. Dinner and sharing circle under the stars.
Wake up to celebrate another day among women who are happy and proud to express who they are as women. After dancing as mirrors for one another’s feminine life force in Qoya, we enjoy a colorful breakfast. We have a special guest medicine woman that will teach us how to build a sweat lodge. We spend the day on this task while we sing, drum, and snack on organic fruits, veggies, and nuts. In the evening we have our sweat lodge ceremony and then share under the stars.
Wake up to Qoya and witness the freedom that our bodies feel after the previous night’s powerful cleanse. Free morning to rest and journal followed by a nutritious lunch. Afternoon storytelling to portray a variety of feminine archetypes. Prepare a presentation of one or more of the stories told in the afternoon to perform it after dinner.
Morning dance and yoga with Qoya, followed by a healthy and abundant breakfast. On this day we learn how to build a labyrinth and then enjoy a colorful and organic lunch. In the afternoon we do ceremony to enter the labyrinth and connect with our deepest longing in preparation for our vision quest. Dinner and sharing circle around the fire.
We rise early to pray and pack our things, and then we leave for an all-day vision quest in the mountains. We have horses for those who get too tired walking. If someone cannot walk up the mountains and cannot ride a horse, they can go by car to our final destination. Once we find our vision in the high mountains we walk down through a world biosphere reserve of local palms. A bus awaits us on the other side and takes us to our beach hotel for a well-deserved hot shower and an elegant and abundant meal. http://www.hotelislaseca.com/
This morning we sleep in to linger in our dreams and consciously bring their blessings to our awaken self. Then we pray with our naked feet buried in the sand and sea and we walk to a local restaurant that offers gorgeous fresh sea food and fish. Lazy afternoon to journal, rest, get a massage, or to share with one another. Early dinner and sharing circle under the stars to ground all of our experiences and prepare for the next day’s journey back home.
Wake up to a farewell dance of sisterhood with Qoya and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Pack our bags, go back to our favorite restaurant for lunch, and take the bus back to the airport, or on to our next adventure, with a heart filled with loving memories.
The cost of this 12-day medicine journey is $4,150 per person, double occupancy. Includes all land costs and every meal, except for the last two lunches. Our camping is very comfortable and includes tents and mattresses, and the feedback we get from this experience is that you feel even more held by Mother Earth as you go through your process. You also have the option to upgrade to a room with private bathroom paying an extra amount (limited availability).
