SHAMAN HEALER SAGE tells the story of Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D., Founder of the Four Winds Society, who transitioned from a successful career in modern medical science in the U.S. to study ancient energy medicine of the legendary Inka and Q’ero shamans of South America. His best-selling book, also entitled SHAMAN HEALER SAGE, serves as the foundation of this biographical documentary in which he shares his life’s work.
With his background as a psychologist and medical anthropologist, Villoldo studied the healing practices of the Amazon and the Andes for over 30 years. During his travels in South America, he discovered a group of healers who specialized in treating illness before it manifested in the physical body. These shamanic healers didn’t work on the physical body itself, but on the Luminous Energy Field (LEF) surrounding the body.
A modern day shaman, Villoldo ultimately founded the Four Winds Society, which brings the teachings of these master healers to the West. Through their teaching you are given the tools to help create optimal health and wellness on every level of your being — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Prior to Four Winds, Villoldo founded and directed the Bio-Self Regulation Laboratory at San Francisco State University, investigating the effects of energy healing on blood and brain chemistry.
The DVD includes the extensive 53 minute bonus feature, “Energetic Interventions,” in which Villoldo demonstrates some of the energy healing techniques featured in the main film.
“Shaman Healer Sage was a great inspiration to me when I first read it almost ten years ago. It became the foundation of my studies and a way of looking at healing that has changed my life. I highly recommend this video which brings this material to life!” Pat Heavren
“I read the book ‘Shaman, Healer, Sage’ a few years ago and it changed the way I think about healing and medicine. Alberto Villoldo has to be the most open, disarming and funniest shamans alive. In this film version of his book, he doesn’t try to be cryptic, doesn’t try to hide his knowledge, although he does warn you that the shamanic path to healing is long and difficult. This film really shows him as a person, how he developed from a western medical scientist into someone with a deep, practical understanding of the Amazonian and Incan shamanic medicine. You won’t be a shaman after watching this film, but you will understand what it takes to become one. Highly Recommended.” Hagbard Celine
