Chronically Fatigued? Could use some Pep?
Today many of us live exhausted. We are out of our minds with fatigue, lack of sleep, and anxiety. There is too much to do in the day. And in the end, you create stress and psychosomatic disease.
Shamans discovered the nutrients that can repair and upgrade the brain, and the neurotoxins ─ like curare ─ that can destroy it. And it all starts in the gut.
Our brains are damaged by the wheat and other grains discovered during the agricultural revolution 6,000 years ago. Anthropologist Jared Diamond has called this dietary shift "the worst mistake in the history of the human race." It ushered an end to shamanic beliefs about the sacredness of all life and brought the rise of religions that pleaded "give us this day our daily bread."
Then, in the 1950s, we discovered "dwarf wheat," that has 20 times the gluten content of the old strains of wheat. What does highly processed wheat have to do with our modern diseases and maladies? "White" bread has only been around for fifty years. In that same time period, we have witnessed the rise of the devastating ailments of diabetes, dementia, depression, autism, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.
Food cravings are not all in your head; they're in your gut. When you eat processed grains, you stimulate the same centers in the brain that are stimulated by heroin and cocaine. Yeast, fungi, and bad bacteria thrive on sugars. (Remember that refined grains turn into sugars almost immediately). A piece of white bread or forkful of white pasta will give you a higher blood sugar spike than a spoonful of white sugar.
When you reach for the white bread or pasta, the bad bacteria win the battle of the gut. To repair a leaky gut, or reverse the digestive toxin overload that leads to it, you must eliminate sugar and gluten from your diet, and replenish the friendly bugs in your belly.
By repairing the gut with probiotics, phytonutrients from plants, and good fats such as those in nuts and avocados, you recover your energy and can cure the mid-day blues. Then you can begin to prime your brain for enlightenment.
This enlightenment is not only the result of spiritual achievement, but of the actual production of light in each of your cells, particularly your brain cells. This light is generated by mitochondria, the fuel factories in our cells.
