— THE IMPORTANCE OF DETOXING YOUR BODY

Every day, we are exposed to contaminants in our food, water and air that did not exist 100 years ago. These toxins wreak havoc in our bodies, interfering with the many delicate systems that keep us healthy, functional, and alive.

The toxins in our environment do more than damage our bodies—they interfere with our ability to raise the quality of our luminous energy field (LEF), making it difficult to readily experience unity with all creation.

Today, our chances of enjoying a long and healthy life such as our ancestors once did are greatly diminished. In fact, we are 99% certain to suffer and die from the diseases of civilization: cancer, heart disease, dementia. Only 1% of us will die of old age.

The good news is we can change this. When we combine an ancient shamanic healing discipline with cutting edge neuroscience, we can actually heal disease before it manifests in the body. We can reprogram our biological destiny so we don’t have to relive the illnesses and dramas that run in our families. We can create extraordinary health for the rest of our lives.

Years ago, as a young medical anthropologist with a research grant from a large Swiss pharmaceutical company, I spent months in the Amazon looking for a breakthrough cure for cancer, heart disease or dementia. What I found was that these diseases did not exist in the indigenous communities I visited.

It was extraordinary. What did these people know about healthy living that we did not?

They knew three things. They knew you had to detox the body. They knew you had to upgrade the quality of the energy field so you could upgrade the body. And they knew you had to practice forgiveness in order to heal your emotions. These are the three pillars of the ancient healing methodologies which we call One Spirit Medicine.

So, how do you detox your body?

The detox begins in your kitchen: Clear out all junk food, sports drinks, fruit juices and sodas. Read labels, and toss anything that has ingredients you can’t pronounce. Eliminate everything that is processed, contains preservatives, coloring or additives. And, most importantly, sugar. One hundred years ago, the average American ate five pounds of sugar per year. Today we are eating 200 pounds of refined sugars and another 180 pounds of refined grains that turn into sugars as they enter the bloodstream.

In addition to processed foods, you’ll need to avoid the most common substances that cause inflammation:

Gluten-containing products such as wheat, rye, barley and malt in its various forms. The body does not recognize the gluten protein, which produces inflammation. Foods containing gluten quickly turn into sugar—one slice of toast raises your blood sugar more quickly than a tablespoon of sugar. Some people are more sensitive to gluten than others—sensitivity indicators include brain fog, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, poor sleep, digestive problems and leaky gut.

Dairy products (cheese, yogurt, milk) are likewise on the list of detox no-nos. Most people are either allergic or sensitive to dairy—as indicated by acne, asthma, runny nose, stuffy sinuses and eczema. After the 10 days you can try reintroducing dairy to test if you are sensitive to it. Eggs, beans, hydrogenated oils or refined vegetable oils like corn, sunflower, soybean or canola also need to be cleared out.

Finally, you need to eliminate chocolate, which contains added sugar, although you can hold on to pure cocoa, which you can add to your morning smoothie, if desired.

The next step is to start eating real food (a primarily plant-based diet) and abstain from all foods that turn into sugar for 18 hours each day: Stay away from fruits, honey, potatoes, rice, corn, etc. And remember that alcohol also converts to sugar.

Sugar favors the growth of candida in your gut flora—and, incidentally, is more addictive than cocaine. Excess sugar causes blood sugar levels to spike, which leads to inflammation, weight gain, and food cravings.

And as you start to reclaim your biology, you access the higher neural networks in the brain and begin to understand your life journey within a much broader spiritual context.

Next week we’ll cover the potent supplements, superfoods and neuro-nutrients that detox the body, upgrade the quality of the brain and bring us to a higher level of neural networks—where we can experience creativity and inner peace, create psychosomatic health, and chart the course of our own destiny. We will also invite you to participate in our 10-Day Detox program.
